A Brisk Smile
Embraced with silence as I called out to you
Kissed with warm tears that slowly shed for you
Hurt hidden behind a brisk smile of earnest
And as the daybreak came and the sun rose
I realised it was better to make sense of
To enjoy the beauty and mystery of
The delicate gift of another day
Rather than all the chaos
You were too oblivious
To even send my way
- I don't want you anymore
I originally wrote this poem in 2020, I wasn’t anticipating it to be one of my first blog posts. While I knew I wanted to share my writing and poetry and other thoughts on this blog, re-visiting this one was somewhat of a coincidence.
